Memorized All 50 State Capitals

4B is loads of fun!

Reason #34279 to not take Arts courses

I’m writing my RS 100L essay instead of sleeping.  It’s due in 2 days and tonite is the only time I have to finish it.
I really wish I took Genetics.  Cytosine for life!

Stupid business models at work

A one-way return ticket to Canada is more expensive than a roundtrip.  How does that make any sense at all?
Serves me right for not being able to afford a round trip when I first got my ticket to come here…

Toasting the blog

This weekend was thankfully a long weekend, go go Bank Holiday! My roommates went to Madrid and Paris, respectively, while I went to work. It was a blast spending my Sunday and Monday reading and trying to figure things out! I’m really wishing I took more relevant courses during my previous school [...]

Random Insomniac Moment #9572

Can’t sleep. Gah!
You know what sucks? The British Personal Banking system. I set up a new account last week and I still can’t withdraw my money without going down to the teller. I’m waiting to receive my debit card, my savings card, and my credit card in the mail. I [...]

London-ism #34381

Short explanation: London + Sivji-ism = London-ism.
Yesterday, Andrew (one of my roommates) and I hit up Asda (aka the British Walmart) to stock up on snacks and supplies.  Since we bought way too much stuff, we decided to wheel our shopping cart home…. big mistake.
British shopping carts have sensors which automatically lock one of the [...]

It’s the little things you notice and miss

I laid down 25 pence after getting a drink at the pub and got the strangest look.
British Rando #1: “What’s that for?”
Sivji: “Uh…. the tip.”
British Rando #1: “You can take it back”
Sivji: “O….k….”
So I guess they don’t tip in England…

I opened a bank account with Barclays and apparently I will be getting my debit card in the mail.  [...]

Sitting in the Airport Terminal…

My plane leaves in less than an hour and I can’t help but think that I should be feeling something…  I have no idea what this feeling should be, but I know something should be there.  I guess this trip hasn’t hit me yet…
I’m treating these next four months in England just like any other [...]

Countdown has begun

Eight days until exams are done… twelve days until I’m off to London.
In other news, Barclays appears to have some competition in its bid to acquire ABN AMRO.  Should be an interesting battle, regardless of the outcome.  Everytime I read an article on the propose merger and the competition that is expected, I get reminded [...]

Saying goodbye to the horrendous WordPress console

I downloaded Windows Live Writer (Beta) and I am thoroughly impressed.
After a quick installation, I just entered my blog address, login, and password and was off an running as Writer detected the WordPress API and created a profile for me.
I can now easily update my website using a WYSIWYG editor that has a spell check included.  Thanks, [...]
